Last updated : January 1, 2025
1. Purpose
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the antiquites-en-france.fr website (the "Platform"), operated by its publisher (see legal notice).
Using the Platform constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms.
2. Service description
AEF is a marketplace connecting private and professional buyers with professional antique dealers, brocanteurs and decorative arts merchants based in France. The publisher acts as an intermediary and is not the seller of any item listed on the Platform.
3. Account creation
To access certain features (purchasing, quote requests, dealer space), you must create an account and provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information.
You are solely responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for any activity carried out under your account. Any fraudulent use must be reported to the publisher without delay.
4. Rules for buyers
- Orders placed on the Platform are firm and final once payment is confirmed.
- A 14-day statutory right of withdrawal applies under applicable consumer law, except where legal exceptions apply (customised items, etc.).
- Disputes between buyers and dealers should be reported to the publisher, who may attempt mediation.
5. Rules for dealers
- Dealers must be professionals (registered legal entities or sole traders).
- Item descriptions and photographs must accurately reflect the actual condition of each piece.
- Dealers are solely responsible for the accuracy of published content and compliance with all legal obligations applicable to their trade (legal guarantees, antiques regulations, etc.).
- The publisher reserves the right to suspend or delete any account that fails to comply with these rules.
6. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe, a licensed payment service provider. The publisher does not store any banking data. Applicable service fees are displayed at checkout.
7. Prohibited content
It is prohibited to publish or transmit via the Platform:
- Unlawful, defamatory, obscene or rights-infringing content.
- Stolen, counterfeit or legally restricted items.
- Misleading or fraudulent content (false descriptions, fake reviews, etc.).
8. Service availability
The publisher endeavours to keep the Platform available 24/7 but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance may cause temporary interruptions, notified in advance where possible.
9. Amendments
The publisher reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Users will be notified by email or on-screen notification at their next login. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Applicable law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by French law. Any unresolved dispute shall be submitted to the courts with jurisdiction over the publisher's registered office. You may also refer to a consumer mediator free of charge.
